Blue Jay, Pierre Girard (2001)

Blue Jay, Pierre Girard (2001)

Born in 1967 in Sorel, self-taught Pierre Girard developed his love of drawing as a young child.

In 1984, after visiting an art show featuring the works of Jean-Luc Grondin, he was inspired to portray animal life. His passionate love of nature and firsthand knowledge are clearly reflected in his paintings.

In 1988 he was awarded a grant encouraging his involvement in wildlife conservation. His drawings grace the pages of many publications in Québec. He has embarked on several study tours, including the Magdalen Islands in 1990, the Florida Everglades in 1992 and Kenya in 1994. The Sorel Islands remain for him a source of great inspiration.
