Robert Gérard is from Montreal and first studied painting and graphic design at Studio Salette in Montreal. He now lives and works in Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon (Quebec).

His artistic talent first blossomed when he worked with Lucien Grenet and then with Richard Hansen before travelling to France to spend some time. A versatile painter, he uses a number of techniques: gouache, acrylics and pencil studies.

Robert Gérard has illustrated many books and publications, and his artistic talent has also been called upon for the creation of certain television programs. His work has been shown in Quebec, in France, in the United States and in Africa, and his work is often on display in art galleries both in France and in Quebec.
