Nature Project Executive Summary (2012)

The Claudine and Stephen Bronfman Family Foundation, the Foundation de la Faune du Québec and the David Suzuki Foundation conducted an extensive research initiative entitled “The Nature Project”.

The partners wanted to confirm the idea that connecting people personally with nature is essential to their appreciation of and eventual actions leading to the protection of the biodiversity that surrounds them.

The executive summary, available in French and in English, provides the highlights of this collaboration, including the many workshops and consultations held with both researchers and practitioners active in this field.

The research report, available only in French, documents the impacts of “nature deficit disorder”, as well as providing potential means to achieving an enriched relationship with nature leading to pro-environmental practices (especially those encouraging biodiversity conservation and maintaining healthy ecosystems.)
