The Program for the conservation of Lac Saint-Pierre provides financial aid to organizations promoting initiatives in conservation or restoration of biodiversity and water quality for the Lac Saint-Pierre ecosystem.

It aims to restore the ecological functions of the littoral zones of Lac Saint-Pierre and its tributaries by financially supporting the restoration of natural environments, especially through the development of shorelines in agrarian environments, as well as wetlands in littoral zones.

Objectives

  • Promote the recovery of the ecological functions characteristic of the littoral, particularly within a perspective of improving water quality, restoring ecosystem productivity, and revitalizing biodiversity.
  • Provide optimal conditions for reproduction and feeding of fish, waterfowl, farmland birds, amphibians, reptiles, and pollinating insects.
  • Restore functional connectivity and promote the recovery of a characteristic and native vegetation.
