Due to the situation in Quebec regarding COVID-19, the Ministère des Forêts, de la Faune et des Parcs, in conjunction with the Fondation de la faune du Québec, is forced to cancel all activities of the support program for the seeding of lakes and streams (PSELCE) for the summer season and those associated with Young sport fishers’ program during the Fishing Festival. For more information, see the Ministry’s press release or contact us.

Thank you for your understanding.

The Young sport fishers’ program introduces young people aged 9 to 12 to sport fishing (ice fishing and summer fishing).

The new Urban Area Component aims to promote the initiation of young people living in large cities in Quebec (100,000 inhabitants and over). For more information, consult the Young sport fishers’ program information document.

See the promotional video of the program.

Promote the development of a new generation of fishers in Quebec.

Groups of youth 9 to 12 years are invited to spend a day close to a body of water where they will learn about fish biology, the basics of fishing, respect for the environment, regulation, and concepts of safety.

During this day-long activity, a fishing rod (or tip-up), as well as a valid fishing licence for up to 18 years of age, are provided to each participant to encourage them to go fishing again. Furthermore, each youth receives an educational brochure « Moi je pêche avec … Guliver! » ou « La pêche blanche avec … Guliver! ».
