The Program for the integrated management of sustainable development for wildlife in forest environments is a financial aid program for initiatives aiming to promote and preserve the habitats of exploited wildlife in public forests, generating the active participation of main stakeholders in the implementation of an integrated management of resources.
Objectives
The projects submitted must include concrete steps toward the integrated management of resources and, for projects targeting regional issues, preferably resulting from orientations provided by a local table on integrated management of resources and territory (LTIMRT) in relation to integrated forestry planning. The projects must meet the following objectives:
- promote the integration of wildlife values, knowledge, and concerns in the steps toward integrated forest planning to ensure optimal management of exploited wildlife habitat (hunting, fishing, or trapping) in the forest;
- support projects related to the development and preservation of exploited wildlife and its habitats;
- promote discussion between wildlife stakeholders to make proposals, with forestry stakeholders and within the framework of forestry planning, that integrate wildlife concerns and their needs regarding habitats;
- allow for a vast distribution of knowledge on integrated management of forest wildlife resources.
